This home's incredible updated look is the result of our Brown Roofing team's hard work. This full roof replacement was completed using brand new IKO Dynasty shingles in the color Granite Black.
This home looks fantastic after the Brown Roofing team installed a brand new roof. The new color o the new IKO Dynasty shingles, Summit Gray, perfectly complements the color of this home. This building is now both full of charm and character, and protected by high-quality materials.
For this massive job it was all hands on deck, this was one of the biggest we have ever done. The church wanted a full roof replacement which meant ripping up all the old shingles along with the underlayment and then the decking layer. Once all the old materials were up we got to work laying down the new plywood decking layer, after this we put down Ice and Water along all the edges, valleys and peaks. Next we laid down the underlayment which acts as another layer of protection from the elements. lastly the shingles were installed and the church choose our IKO Dynasty Summit Gray Shingles which looked amazing and complemented the rest of the building.
For this home, we did a full roof replacement, the first step to this was inspecting the damage. This home was suffering from old age and algae growth. Next, we ripped up the old shingles to inspect the damage underneath, and to no surprise, there was rot on the decking layer. To fix this we ripped the old boards and checked to see if the rafters were also rotting, and luckily they were not. After this, we installed a brand new decking layer with ¾ sheets of plywood to ensure the rigidity of this roof. Next, we laid down decking tape, Sealeron Ice and Water, and a synthetic underlayment. These three layers not only act as another layer of protection for the roof but also as an insulator, creating a more energy-efficient home. Finally, we can install the shingles and the way we install them is by starting at the bottommost edge and working our way up. We layer them in this way to ensure that water is properly directed off the roof and not under the singles. As we work our way up the roof we also install flashings on any openings in the roof like vents and chimneys. We also install them anywhere shingles meet the siding. We made sure to complete this roof in just one day to ensure that we impeded the least on this homeowner's daily routine. Now they have a brand new roof and can be confident knowing that their home will be safe and sound all year round!
For this home, we replaced the old and stained roof on the home and detached garage. The shingles on this roof had algae and moss growing on them, they were also starting to fade in color.
The first step to this replacement was ripping up the old shingles and inspecting the decking layer below. The decking layer was in decent shape but there were a few sheets that needed to be replaced so once that was done we could move on to the next step, the sealing layer.
The sealing layer consists of 3 materials that work together to, as you guessed it, seal the roof. The first to go down is the decking tape or strip tape. This tape is made from the same material as our Sealeron Ice and Water, and its job is to seal all the seams on the roof. Next is the Sealeron Ice and Water and this is applied along all the eaves, rake edges, overhangs, and valleys. Its job is to seal off all the most vulnerable points on the roof. Lastly, we lay down the synthetic underlayment. This is laid down over any uncovered parts of the roof. All three of these materials combined create a waterproof seal around the roof that can still breathe with the rest of the home.
Lastly, we install the shingles and flashings. This customer decided on our IKO Dynasty Granite Black Shingles. These new shingles popped with the rest of the home and overall brought the home to life. When installing the shingles we always start from the bottom-most corner and work our way up to ensure that the shingles are overlapping properly. The flashing is installed on all the openings in the roof like skylights and vents. They are also installed around chimneys and walls.
In one short day, this roof was fully installed and this homeowner now has a roof that will last them and lifetime and protect their family from the elements.
