This home’s roof was leaking causing damage to the attic so a new roof was definitely in store.
The first step to the full roof replacement was to strip the roof down to the decking layer and then decide whether to replace some or all of the decking layer. Due to the decking layer being wood lats, it is better to keep them installed and plywood over them for more structural rigidity, but here some of the lats were starting to rot so we replaced those pieces first and then laid all new plywood over the existing wood.
Next, we installed our underlayments, which consist of 3 different layers to seal and protect the decking layer. First, we install our Sealeron Ice and Water around all the eaves, valleys, walls, and around any penetrations. Next is the deck tape, which is laid down over all the plywood and metal seams. Lastly, we install our synthetic underlayment, and this material is laid down anywhere the Ice and Water does not cover.
Now the roof is prepped for shingles, this customer decided on our IKO Dynasty Granite Black Shingles. These shingles beautify contrast the color of the home and add immense curb appeal. By the end of the day, this customer was extremely satisfied with the final product and was happy knowing that their home will be safe and dry for many years to come.

When we showed up to the Grassi's home there roof had color fade and damages all around from old age. They also had a hole around one of their vents and daylight could be seen from in the attic. They decided on IKO Dynasty Granite Black Shingles which matched their siding and trim, we also fixed the hole around the vent and smaller damages around the chimney.
This homeowner purchased the house a little over a year ago. The home inspector said the roof was fine. We found mold and rot.
