Roof Replacement Before & After Photos

This beautiful home was in need for a new roof so we delivered!

This homeowner's roof was still fairly young and was not the worst looking, but unfortunately, the home was taking on water and the homeowners noticed water spots and rotting plywood in their attic. Once we got out there and did an inspection we found a few issues with the roof and a new one was warranted. Even though the materials were fairly new and had plenty of life left in them, poor craftsmanship compromised this whole roof. This is why it is extremely important to hire a trusted company that knows what they are doing.

Back to the roof, the first step to this replacement was to rip up all the existing shingles and inspect the decking layer below. We already knew that some of the sheets were going to have to be replaced but it is still important to inspect the whole roof once it is stripped down to the decking layer. Once we replaced the rotting plywood we could move on to installing the next layer of this roof, the underlayments. This layer consists of 3 different materials that create a watertight yet breathable layer of protection for the roof. These materials also help insulate the home and create a more energy-efficient environment. Our Sealeron Ice and Water is the first to go down and this is installed on all our eaves, valleys, walls, around penetrations, and anywhere it is deemed needed. Next, is our Sealeron Deck Tape. This is installed on every seam that is created by the plywood and overlapping materials. Lastly, our synthetic underlayment is installed over any remaining plywood that is exposed.

Finally, this roof is ready for shingles and flashing. When we start shingling we always start at the bottom edge of the roof and this is to ensure that the shingles are layered properly and so water sheds off the roof as efficiently as possible. Once we got to an area where we needed flashing we flashed it with the correct corresponding material. For example, the skylight on this home has a special “flashing kit” that needs to be used in order to correctly seal it. By the end of the day, this homeowner had a brand new roof that looked beautiful and rot-free.
