This roof was a treat for our team due to it being on the smaller size and its simplistic shape. The first step to a roof replacement is always demolition. We started by ripping up the old shingles and after inspecting the decking layer underneath we decided that replacing it was unnecessary. The decking layer on this house is called a tongue and groove. This style of decking layer is slightly outdated but not enough to where it needed to be replaced. The wood was also in very good condition and replacing it would be an unneeded expense for our customer so they opted to reuse this layer. Reusing a decking layer is in no way an inferior way of doing things and as long as the wood is in good condition there is no need for a new one. Once this was established we started laying down the underlayment and Ice and Water these layers adds extra protection to the home and prevents water from getting through the decking layer if the shingles were to ever be damaged. Finally, the shingles are installed and this customer decided on our IKO Dynasty Monaco Red shingles which looked absolutely stunning and matched perfectly with the rest of this home.

The Brown Roofing team installed a ridge vent for this customer in East Have, Connecticut. This new vent will help regulate the attic's air temperature, and prevent condensation and mold. In the first photo, the new vent is full visible. In the second photo, the vent is covered with IKO Dynasty ride caps, in the color Biscayne. This process produces a result that is just as pleasing to the eye as it is necessary, for a safe home.

This customer in East Haven chose the Brown Roofing team to fix their leaking roof. Our crew removed all of the old shingles before assessing the wood decking for damage. During this process, the damage causing the leak was removed, and replaced with new plywood. When it was time to choose a new shingle color, this customer chose Frostone. This new color flatters the home so much better than the old shingles. These IKO Dynasty shingles will protect this house from the harsh elements.
