This beautiful home had severe moss and algae overgrowth. This allowed water to seep through the shingles and absorb into the decking layer, which caused the plywood layer to rot away. Once we ripped up the old shingles we tore up the rotten underlayment and replaced it. The homeowner choose IKO Dynasty Granite Black Shingles which matched perfectly with their olive siding.
For this job our team replaced the customers old wood siding and installed a brand new roof. Both the roof and the siding were covered in moss and algae, this caused both to age faster and lose their color. The moss and algae also brought the curb appeal of the house down tremendously. There was also damages to the trim around the roof which our team took care of. We replaced the old wood shingles with our Cider Peaks Sea Slate and their roof with IKO Dynasty Granite Black Shingles. By the end of the second day we left this customer with a totally transformed house that looked absolutely stunning.
This home had severe wear and tear, there were also many stain marks and algae growth. Our team took care of these issues by conducting a roof replacement. The first step to this replacement was to rip up the old shingles and closely examine the decking layer underneath. After inspecting the decking layer we decided that we needed to replace a few sheets of plywood. Once this was done we moved on to laying down Sealeron Ice and Water along with a synthetic underlayment. Finally, we could install the shingles and flashings. By the end of the day, this roof was fully transformed, and the home redeemed its beauty once more.
This was a simple job on this home in Seymour. There was an ample amount of algae growing on this roof hinting at water damage. Once we ripped up the shingles we were able to see the damage and there was a fair amount of water damage to the decking layer. A good part of the roof was rotting and needed to be replaced so that is what we did. Once that was done we moved on to laying down Sealeron Ice and Water along with a synthetic underlayment. These layers add another layer of protection to the roof and ensure that even if the shingles are damaged the roof will still be sealed. Lastly, we install the shingles and flashings, when installing shingles we always start at the bottom edge and work up to ensure that they are layered properly. We install flashings around all the openings in the roof like vents and chimneys. Now that this brand new roof is installed this homeowner can be confident knowing that their home will be protected from the elements.
For this job, we ended up doing a full roof replacement for the home as well as the detached garage. The roof on both the home and garage was not in the best condition, especially for its age.
The first thing we did in this replacement was ripping up the old shingle and inspecting the decking layer below. Both decking layers were rotting and were starting to mold which was caused by water leaking through the shingles and where the shingles meet the siding. We ripped up every sheet of plywood on both buildings and replaced them. Once this was done we laid down decking tape, Sealeron Ice and Water, along with a synthetic underlayment. These three layers work in tandem to seal your roof and home from the elements, they also act as an insulator.
Finally, we can install the shingles and flashings, when installing the shingles we always start at the bottom and work our way up to ensure the shingles are perfectly overlapping and water is directed into the gutters and off the roof. The flashings are installed on any openings in the roof like vents and chimneys. They are also installed where the shingles touch the siding to help prevent leaks. This roof was fully installed in less than a day, and the customer can have a piece of mind knowing that this roof will protect their home for the rest of their life.
