This beautiful home in Stratford, CT had a roof that needed some serious work. We started by ripping up the old shingles to expose the decking layer below. When we rip the shingles on any job we use heavy-duty tarps made out of the same material fire hoses are made of to slide the material off the roof. This ensures that none of the old materials end up on the lawn and that none of the property is damaged.

Once the shingles are up we shift our focus to the decking layer, there are many types of decking layers, and the one on this home is called tongue and groove. This layer was completely rotted and needed to be replaced. We ripped up the old wood and replaced it with brand-new plywood.

Moving onto the sealing layer we laid down strip tape, Sealeron Ice and Water, and a synthetic underlayment. These three materials work together to seal and waterproof the roof while also letting it breathe.

Finally, we installed the shingles and this customer decided on our IKO Dynasty Brownstone Shingles. This look perfectly matched the rest of the home and this new roof added immense value to the property.

The Brown Roofing team has transformed this home with a roof replacement. The old stained shingles were removed, along with any damaged wood decking. New plywood was installed on the roof, and covered with our Ice and Water Shield. Next, our crew installed new IKO Dynasty shingles. The shingle color chosen by this customer was Granite Black. This new roof is as beautiful as it is reliable, and will maintain these qualities for a very long time. 

While completing a roof replacement on this customer's home, the Brown Roofing team also replaced the roof of their shed. The old shingles on the roof were worn and covered in algae. New IKO Dynasty shingles were installed to protect this shed from the elements. The shingle color used was Granite Black, which matches the new roof on this customer's home, creating a cohesive look throughout the whole property. 

This garage in Stratford needed a new roof due to outdated shingles and lichen growth. The Brown Roofing removed all of these old shingles. The flat section of this garage roof was replaced with flat roofing, and the rest of the roof had new IKO Dynasty shingles installed. Our crew also removed the cupola from this roof, per our customer's request. The new shingle color, Summit Gray, is much more complimentary to the features of this building than the previous faded color. The existing gutter on this home in Stratford was old, damaged, and sagging. In our before photo, the gutter is visibly sagging near the downspout. The Brown Roofing team removed this old gutter, and replaced with a top-of-the-line Gutter Shutter system. These new gutters are heavy duty and are guaranteed to never clog or sag. Thanks to the Gutter Shutter system, this homeowner won't be worried about their gutters failing during bad weather.
