This was a quick and neat job. This customer was looking for a gutter replacement so we recommended our 6K Gutter System. This system is very effective at redirecting water off the roof and away from the home. This homeowner decided to switch up the color and go from white to gutters to black and this change really impacted the look of the home.
This home was suffering from severe color fade and broken shingles. First, our team started ripping up the old shingles and assessed if the decking layer needed to be replaced. After assessing the layer we concluded that we could save the customer money by reusing the existing decking layer. This is a widely accepted practice as long as there is zero rot or mold growth and we carefully inspect each and every sheet of plywood to ensure this. Next, we laid down Ice and Water along with the underlayment. These two layers add extra protection against any weather that penetrates the shingles if they are damaged. After this the shingles are installed, and this homeowner decided on our IKO Dynasty Castle Gray Shingles which looked stunning when paired with the beautiful stone work that has been done to this home.
Our Brown Roofing team installed a new roof for this homeowner. New IKO Dynasty shingles in color Driftshake elevate the look of this home, and protect it from damage.
This home’s roof had everything wrong with it, the whole nine yards. There was the usual algae streaking, there was lichen and moss growing on the roof, and there were even damaged shingles that were causing leaks to occur. After going over all of these issues with the homeowner, they decided on a full roof replacement.
The first step in this process is to fully remove all the existing shingles, we then further inspect the decking layer below to see if any of the plywood is rotting and needs to be replaced. Fortunately for this homeowner, only a few sheets of plywood needed to be replaced in the areas where the roof was leaking.
Next, we moved on to the sealing layer or underlayments, this layer consists of three materials that work together to ensure that there is a water-tight yet breathable barrier on the roof. Contrary to popular belief shingles are not actually water-tight, Yes, there are beads of tar that help the shingles stay together and prevent wind-driven rains from getting under the shingles but this is not meant to keep water out. That is where the underlayments come in. We start with our Sealeron Ice and Water, and this is applied along all eves, valleys, walls, and any other vulnerable locations on the roof. Next, we lay down our deck tape and this tape seals any seams created by the plywood or metals. Finally, we lay down a synthetic underlayment on any remaining exposed decking.
Now we can move on to the next stage which is installing the shingles. We start at the bottom-most corner of the roof and, make our way up and across, flashing any openings in the roof like vents, chimneys, and skylights as we go. Finally, we top the roof off with a ridge vent and cap shingles to finish off the roof.
The shingles on this home were worn and brittle. In order to better protect their roof, this homeowner chose Brown Roofing to install a new roof. The new IKO Dynasty shingles that were used for this replacement will prevent water and weather damages. The customer chose the shingle color Granite Black. This new roof is sure to keep this home safe and stylish for many years to come.
