Our Brown Roofing team preformed a chimney repointing, re-flashing, water seal, and installed a new chimney crown. The team's hard work payed off in a result that is just as stunning as it is reliable.
This customer called us out to their home to inspect their roof and give them a quote. The roof was leaking in several areas and moss and algae were growing on the shingles which hinted at a rotting decking layer.
Once we got the green light from the customer we started by ripping up the old shingles and further inspecting the decking layer below. As expected the decking layer was rotting in multiple locations. The fix for this is easy, we just replace the sheets of damaged plywood with CDX plywood. Now that the decking layer is taken care of we moved on to the sealing layer. This layer consists of three materials that create a waterproof yet breathable shield for your home
First, we laid down strip tape over all the seams. Then our Sealeron Ice and Water over all the eaves, rake edges, overhangs, and valleys. Finally, a synthetic underlayment is laid on any remaining areas.
The next step to this roof replacement was to install the shingles and this customer decided on our IKO Dynasty Castle Gray Shingles. These shingles popped with the rest of the house, especially with the brown trim. Within the day this roof was fully replaced and it will keep its family safe from the elements for many years to come.
This home was leaking in several locations and needed a full roof replacement. The first step to this was to take up all of the old shingles and inspect the decking layer, once we had a closer look we discovered that the plywood was rotting and we needed to replace almost every sheet. Next, we used our Sealeron Ice and Water to seal the edges, valleys, and walls, along with any other vulnerable areas. Next, we taped any seams with deck tape and finally, we laid down a synthetic underlayment over any of the uncovered plywood.
Now we can install the shingles, this homeowner decided on our IKO Dynasty Sentinel Slate Shingles. When installing shingles we start from the bottom-most edge of the roof to ensure that they are layered properly and shed water as efficiently as possible. As we make our way up the roof we install flashings around chimneys, skylights, and vents, along with any other openings in the roof.
Once the roof was done our team did a final clean-up and inspection. Now this homeowner has a brand new roof that will keep them safe and dry for many, many years to come.
The shingles on this home were falling apart and desperately needed to be replaced so this homeowner called us out to take a look. When we got to the house we saw that this home had 3 tab shingles. This type of shingle is completely outdated and is no longer used by most in the industry.
Due to the state of the shingles and decking layer, this home definitely needed a full roof replacement. Once we got the green light from the customer, we started on the replacement by ripping up the old shingles and inspecting the decking layer below. The decking layer on this roof happened to be wood lats meaning that we needed to install all new plywood over the existing wood to maintain the structural integrity of the home. Once the decking was done we moved on to the underlayments and we installed our Sealeron Ice and Water, deck tape, and a synthetic underlayment. These three materials work together to cover the whole roof and create a watertight seal around the decking layer.
Lastly, we installed the shingles and flashings, and this customer decided on our IKO Dynasty Granite Black Shingles. When installing the shingles we start at the bottommost edge and work our way across and up to ensure that the shingles are stepped and layered correctly. As we make our way up the roof we install flashings around any penetrations in the roof with the corresponding material. By the end of the day, this customer had a brand new roof that is guaranteed to keep their home dry for the next 50 years.
This home had a few leaks around the roof with no major damages but the roof was 20 years old and was in need of replacement. The first step to this replacement is to rip up all the existing shingles and check the decking layer for rot. Due to the leaks, a section of the roof needed to be replaced. Once this was done we back nailed the existing decking layer.
The next thing we did was lay down our Sealeron Ice and Water. Then, we taped all the seams with our Sealeron strip tape, and finally, we laid down our synthetic underlayment on any of the uncovered plywood.
Now the roof is ready for shingles, when installing shingles we always start at the bottommost corner of the roof and work our way up and across. We do this to ensure that the shingles are layered properly so that water runs off as efficiently as possible. As we make our way up the roof we flash around any penetrations in the roof like chimneys and vents with the corresponding material.
With this roof now fully replaced and the customer ecstatic, our team is happy that we’re now protecting another family.
