We installed rafter mates from the soffits to the ridge vent in all rafter spaces and then installed R30 insulation in each rafter space in this Prospect, CT roof.
This building was the combination of two house put together almost 100 years ago, one of the roof slopes had rough-cut Barnboard the other wood lats both covered in cedar shingles and two layers of asphalt shingles. After removing the existing routes to the wood we covered the entire roof and half-inch CDX plywood installed 6 feet of ice and water shield on all drip edges and in the valleys. The balance of the wood was covered in Owens Corning deck armor synthetic felt. We then shingled the roof with Owens Corning duration shingles. Pipe flashing and chimney flashing were replaced chimney and copper and then finished off with the ridge vent and cap.
The previous owners of this Middlebury home did not replace this roof correctly last time, and added the existing layer of gray shingles on top of the red shingles. This caused serious issues, but Brown Roofing swooped in to save the day. We gave this roof a full replacement with a brand new 7 layer roofing system.
This customer in Middlebury had us install IKO Dynasty Granite Black Shingles.
