The Roof Before
Here's a look at Francisco's old roof before the transformation. Swipe through to see just how we did it!

The Teardown Begins
The crew kicks things off by stripping off all of the old shingles. Before they do that, they hang up large, heavy-duty tarps along the edges of the roof to ensure that the property is protected from falling debris. In addition, this makes the cleanup process far more efficient.

The Sheathing Is Exposed
Underneath the old shingles is a layer of plywood called the sheathing. This is the structural foundation of the roof.

Bad Plywood Is Removed
As the structural foundation of the roof, the health of the sheathing is essential. Any sections affected with damage, like rot or mold, have to be removed.

New Plywood Is Installed
The removed sections are replaced with sturdy new CDX plywood, ensuring a strong, solid base for the new roof. Francisco also requested for his skylight to be removed and covered. No problem! The new plywood is precisely fit and securely nailed down into place.

Seams Are Taped & Underlayment Is Installed
Next, a layer of underlayment is installed over the entire surface. This is a thin, water-resistant material that shields the sheathing from harmful elements that could cause moisture damage, such as rain, snow, and ice.

New Shingles Are Installed
Now the roof is ready for the new shingles to be installed! Francisco has selected the stunning shade of Atlantic Blue from our premium-laminated IKO Dynasty collection. These sleek shingles are proudly backed by our 50-year warranty.

Ridge Vent Is Installed
A shingle vent is installed along all of the ridges of the roof to maintain proper attic ventilation, allowing hot, moist air rising from the house a way to escape. A ridge cap is installed on top of the vent to create a seamless finish.

The Roof After
After a few finishing touches and a thorough cleanup of the property, Francisco's roof is officially complete and looking fantastic!
