Before: Missing Shingles
In this closer look at the old roof, you can spot some serious lichen growth and a few missing shingles to boot. No doubt about it, it's time for a fresh new roof, and we're ready to get started!

The Teardown Begins
The crew starts things off by carefully stripping all of the old shingles off of the roof. Once the shingles come off, the plywood sheathing underneath is revealed. It's what gives the roof its strength and support.

Bad Plywood Is Removed
As the structural foundation of the roof, the sheathing must be in tip-top shape. The team carefully checks for any signs of damage-like mold or rot, as evident on this sheet of plywood here-and removes the affected sections.

New Plywood Is Installed
The damaged sections are replaced with sturdy new 1/2" CDX plywood. Each sheet is clearly numbered so the crew can keep precise track and provide the homeowner with an accurate report of how many were installed.

Seams Are Taped & Underlayment Is Installed
To further support the sheathing, every seam between the plywood sheets is sealed with durable deck tape. After that, the crew lays down a layer of protective underlayment to guard against rain, wind, ice, and snow.

New Shingles Are Installed
Now it's time for the new shingles! Tony went with the phenomenal Frostone Gray from our IKO Dynasty collection to match his home's style beautifully.
