The Roof Before
See the starting point of Mark's unique roof before the makeover. Hit next to see the final result!

The Teardown Begins
The crew kicks things off by carefully stripping off all of the old shingles. Before the teardown begins, the crew hangs up large tarps along the edges of the house and yard to protect the homeowner's property from falling debris. This also makes cleanup much more efficient.

The Sheathing Is Exposed
Underneath the old shingles is a base layer of plywood, known as the sheathing. This is the roof's main structural support, and must be in tip-top condition to ensure strength. The team carefully checks for any signs of damage, like mold or rot.

Seams Are Taped & Underlayment Is Installed
The crew determined that all of Mark's sheathing was in excellent shape and did not need to be replaced. Next, all seams are carefully covered with strong, weatherproof deck tape. The crew then installs a full layer of underlayment. This is a crucial barrier that keeps moisture and extreme weather off the sheathing.

New Shingles Are Installed
Now, it's time for the new shingles! Mark opted for the refined Brownstone from our IKO Dynasty collection, perfectly complementing the home's exterior.

Ridge Vent Is Installed
To ensure proper airflow, a shingle vent is installed along the ridges, helping hot, humid air to escape and reducing the chance of damaging moisture buildup.

The Roof After
With the crew's final touches and one last check, Mark's roof is officially complete and looking fantastic!
