The Old Roof
Check out Lisa's roof before the transformation! Swipe to see the amazing results!

The Teardown
The first step in the renovation is the teardown. Typically, the crew carefully strips away the old shingles to reveal the plywood layer underneath, known as the sheathing. Since Lisa wanted a full sheathing replacement, the crew began by removing the old sheathing entirely.

New Plywood for a New Sheathing
New, durable 1/2" CDX plywood is installed onto the rafters, securely nailed in place and precisely fitted to create a strong, solid foundation as the roof's new sheathing.

Seams Are Taped & Underlayment Is Installed
All seams of the new plywood sheathing get sealed up tight with high-grade deck tape built to withstand the elements. After that, underlayment is installed to act as an added shield against water, wind, snow, and ice.

Same for the Well
Looks like the well's getting an upgrade, too! Underlayment goes on the well...as well.

Ready for New Shingles
With the underlayment all set, we're almost ready for shingles-but first comes the drip edge flashing. This sleek metal strip gets installed along the roof's edges to help guide water straight into the gutters, keeping it from sneaking under the shingles and damaging the sheathing.

New Shingles Go On
Now we are ready for the shingles! Lisa has chosen the sleek Summit Gray from our IKO Dynasty collection to give her roof the perfect finish.

Ridge Vent Is Installed
A ridge vent is installed along the peak of the roof to allow hot, moist air to escape from the attic, helping to prevent condensation and keep the roof structure healthy.

New Flashing on the Chimney
The area where the chimney meets the roof is reinforced with new flashing-thin metal that blocks water from entering through the seams.

The New Roof
A few final touches and a full property cleanup later, Lisa's roof is officially complete!
