The Roof Before
This is what Erwin's roof looked like before the upgrade. Keep scrolling to see the stunning change!

Prepping the Property
First things first: the crew sets up large tarps around the edges of the roof and across the yard to protect the homeowner's property from any falling debris. This also helps make the cleanup process quicker and more efficient.

Old Shingles Are Removed
The teardown begins. The crew carefully strips all of the old shingles off of the roof. This reveals the layer of plywood underneath, which is known as the roof sheathing.

New Plywood Is Installed
As the structural foundation of the roof, the sheathing's health is essential. Any areas found with damage, such as rot or mold, need to be removed and replaced promptly. Brand-new, sturdy 1/2" CDX plywood is carefully fitted and securely nailed into place where damaged pieces were removed.

Seams Are Taped & Underlayment Is Installed
With the plywood in place, all seams are carefully covered with strong, weatherproof deck tape. The crew then installs a full layer of underlayment-a crucial barrier that keeps moisture and extreme weather off the sheathing.

Same for the Shed
In addition, the same process occurs with the shed-although on a much, much smaller scale!

New Cap for the Chimney
A new cap has been installed on the chimney. This is a protective covering that sits on top to prevent water, debris, and animals from entering the flue.

New Shingles Are Installed
Next up, it's time for the new shingles! Erwin went with the incredibly popular Granite Black from our IKO Dynasty collection to match his home's style beautifully

New Shingles for the Bay Window
New shingles are also being installed on the bay window, ensuring a seamless look for the entire house once it's done.

New Flashing for the Chimney
To protect against water infiltration, thin metal flashing is installed around the chimney where it touches the roof, creating a barrier that keeps moisture from seeping in.

Ridge Vent Is Installed
A shingle vent is installed along the roof's ridge to ensure proper ventilation. By releasing hot, moist air, the vent helps protect the roof from future problems like rot and mold caused by trapped condensation.

The Roof After
The crew wrapped things up with a few last steps and a full cleanup-Erwin's new roof is officially complete!

Don't Forget the Shed
And let's not forget the shed! All in all, Erwin's entire property is looking fabulous and everything is guaranteed to stay safe and dry.
