The Roof Before
Here's a look at Jessica's roof before the replacement. That tarp has got to go! Click through to see the amazing transformation!

Old Shingles Are Removed
The crew kicks things off by carefully stripping all of the old shingles off of the roof. Large tarps are nailed along the edges of the roof as well as draped over yard adornments and plants to ensure the property is completely protects as well as pave the way for a more efficient cleanup.

The Sheathing Is Examined
Underneath the old shingles is a layer of plywood called the roof sheathing. This is the structural foundation of the roof. The crew will closely examine the entire surface for any signs of damage, like rot, decay, or mold, and remove any affected areas.

New Plywood Is Installed
The removed areas are replaced with brand-new sturdy 1/2" CDX plywood. Each sheet is securely fitted and nailed into place to ensure a solid base for the new roof.

Seams Are Taped & Underlayment Is Installed
Next, the seams of each sheet of plywood is taped down with heavy-duty all-weather deck tape as an added measure of reinforcement. After that, a layer of underlayment is installed over the entire surface. This is a thin, waterproof membrane that protects the sheathing from damaging elements like rain, wind, snow, or ice.

Drip Edge Is Installed
With the underlayment fully in place, the crew is ready to install the new shingles. Before they go on, drip edge flashing is installed around all of the edges of the roof. This is a thin metal barrier that prevents water from seeping into the roof and fascia by directing it away and towards the gutters. This drip edge is nailed into place and also taped with deck tape.

New Shingles Are Installed
Time for the new shingles! For her new roof, Jessica has selected the new and gorgeous Matte Black shade from our IKO Dynasty collection to perfectly complement her home.

Ridge Vent Is Installed
The crew installs a shingle vent along the roof's ridge to ensure proper ventilation. By releasing hot, moist air, the vent helps protect the roof from future problems like rot and mold caused by trapped condensation.

The Roof After
The crew wrapped things up with a few last steps and a full cleanup-Jessica's new roof is all set!
