The Old Roof
Here's what Catie's roof looked like before the renovation. Click through to see how we transformed it!

A Closer Look
A closer look at the roof reveals the full extent of its weathered condition, with streaky dark discoloration caused by years of moisture damage. It's definitely time for a new roof

The Teardown Begins
The crew begins by carefully removing the old shingles. Before they get started, they lay down large tarps to protect the property from falling debris and to make the cleanup process smoother and more efficient.

Old Shingles Are Removed
The old shingles are stripped from their plywood foundation, which is known as the roof sheathing.

The Decking Is Inspected & Replaced
As the structural core of the roof, the sheathing needs to be in tip-top condition. Any parts of the sheathing found affected by damage, like rot or mold, are removed and replaced with sturdy new CDX plywood.

Seams Are Taped & Underlayment Is Installed
The seams of all the plywood sheets are taped up with all-weather deck tape as an added measure of reinforcement. Then, the underlayment is installed. This thin, water-resistant membrane shields the sheathing from damaging elements like rain, wind, snow, or ice, and it is applied to the entire surface.

New Shingles Are Installed
Now it's time to install the new IKO Dynasty shingles! These premium-laminated, architectural shingles come in a variety of colors to suit any homeowner's style, and Catie has chosen the sleek shade of Summit Gray for her new roof.

Ridge Vent Is Installed
A shingle vent is added along the ridges to help regulate airflow, giving hot, moist air a way to escape and reducing the risk of harmful condensation.

New Copper Flashing for the Chimney
The chimney is flashed with elegant copper. This thin metal barrier helps prevent water from seeping through an otherwise vulnerable junction. In addition, it adds a dash of pizzazz to the roof.

The Completed Roof
With a few final touches and a thorough cleanup of the property, Catie's new roof is complete and built to last for decades!
