The Old Roof
Here is what Timmy's old roof looked like before the makeover. Click through to see the glorious transformation!

The Old Shingles Are Removed
The crew starts off by carefully tearing off the old shingles. This reveals the plywood foundation underneath, which is called the roof decking. After all of the shingles are off, the crew will inspect the decking closely for any signs of damage like rot, decay, or mold.

New Decking Is Installed
The crew found that nearly all of the decking showed signs of damage and needed to be replaced. After receiving the go-ahead from Tommy, the crew installed strong, 1/2" CDX plywood sheets precisely fit and securely nailed into place, forming a solid base for the new roof.

New Plywood Is Numbered
Each sheet of plywood used for the new decking is carefully numbered, allowing the crew to provide the homeowner with an exact count of materials used.

Underlayment Is Installed
Next, a layer of underlayment is installed across the entire surface. This thin, water-resistant synthetic felt acts as a protective barrier, shielding the decking from harmful elements like rain, wind, snow, and ice.

New Shingles Are Installed
It's finally time to install the new IKO Dynasty shingles! These premium-laminated, architectural shingles come in a variety of stylish colors, and Tommy has selected the sleek shade of Biscayne to complement his home.

Ridge Vent Is Installed
A vent is installed along all the roof ridges to ensure proper airflow. This allows hot, moist air from the house to escape, reducing the risk of condensation buildup and helping to protect the roof from potential damage.

New Skylights Are Installed
Tommy's roof had two skylights, which were carefully replaced with sleek, modern VELUX skylights, adding both style and improved functionality to his home.

The New Roof
Flashing is secured around all junctions, like roof pipes and the base of the chimney. With that, Tommy's new roof is complete!
