The Old Roof
Here's what Nick's roof looked like before the replacement. Click through to see the awesome transformation!

The Teardown Begins
The process begins with setting up large, heavy-duty tarps to fully protect the homeowner's property from falling debris. From this angle, the extent of the damage is clear: worn-out shingles, heavy discoloration, and stubborn stains. There's no doubt it's time for a brand-new roof!

Old Shingles Come Off
With the property protected, the crew strips off all of the old shingles. Underneath the shingles is a layer of plywood, called the roof decking. This is the structural foundation of the roof.

Decking Is Examined & Replaced
The health of the decking is essential, and the crew closely inspects the entire surface for any damage, like rot or mold. Any damaged areas are removed and replaced with sturdy new 1/2" CDX plywood.

Seams Taped & Underlayment Goes On
With all necessary decking replacements complete, the crew strengthens the structure by sealing each plywood seam with heavy-duty all-weather deck tape. Then, a protective underlayment is applied across the entire surface, creating a durable shield against rain, wind, and snow.

New Shingles Go On
With the underlayment fully in place, it's time to install the brand-new IKO Dynasty shingles, known for their exceptional quality and durability. Available in a range of stylish shades, Nick chose the elegant Biscayne color to give his roof a fresh, polished look.

Ridge Vent Is Installed
A ridge vent is installed along the peak of the roof, ensuring proper ventilation by allowing hot, humid air to escape. This prevents damaging condensation buildup and helps maintain a healthy roofing system.

New Flashing on Chimney
The chimney is re-flashed with durable, thin metal, creating a protective barrier that keeps water from seeping into vulnerable roof junctions and ensuring long-lasting waterproofing.

The New Roof
With a few final touches, like installing a ridge vent and securing flashing around all pipes, Nick's roof is officially complete and built to last for years to come!
