The Roof Before
Here's a look at Corey's roof before the makeover. Click through to see the amazing transformation!

Before: Moss & Lichen
This closer look reveals the moss and lichen growth settling into the shingles. These moisture-loving plants thrive in damp conditions, keeping the shingles constantly wet and leading to serious damage. Time to get started on that new roof!

Old Shingles Are Removed
First, the crew strips off the old shingles. This exposes the plywood underneath, which is known as the roof sheathing. The roof sheathing is the structural base of the roof.

Bad Plywood Is Removed
As the structural base of the roof, the sheathing must be in tip-top condition. The crew closely inspects every part of the sheathing for any signs of damage like rot, decay, or mold, and they promptly remove the affected parts and replace them with fresh new plywood.

Seams Are Taped & Underlayment Is Applied
After all of the new plywood is securely nailed into place, the team tapes down the seams of each sheet with heavy-duty all-weather deck tape. Next, underlayment is laid down over the entire surface. This is a thin but strong water-resistant barrier that protects the sheathing from harsh elements such as rain, wind, snow, and ice.

New Shingles Are Installed
Now, it's time to install the brand-new IKO Dynasty premium-laminated shingles! Known for their incredible durability and stunning curb appeal, these shingles come in a wide range of colors. Corey has chosen the elegant Frostone Gray for his new roof.

Ridge Vent Installed
A vent is installed along the ridge of the roof. This vent ensures proper airflow by allowing hot, humid air that rises from the house a proper way to escape, minimizing condensation buildup.

New Flashing Installed on Chimney
New flashing is installed around the sides of the chimney where it meets the roof. This durable metal barrier prevents water from seeping into vulnerable joints and crevices.

The Roof Is Complete
After a few final touches, including securing the ridge cap, installing flashing around the vents, and ensuring everything is sealed tight, the roof is ready to protect Corey's home for years to come!
