Before: Back View
This photo of the back of Alisa's roof highlights the visible issues, such as wear and tear and staining from moisture damage. The gutters appear clogged, and the lower-story gutters are covered in moss. It's time to begin this renovation!

The Teardown Begins
The process starts with removing the old shingles. Heavy-duty tarps are laid down in advance to protect Alisa's property from falling debris and to streamline the clean-up.

Bad Plywood Is Removed
Beneath the shingles lies a layer of plywood called the roof decking. This is the structural foundation of the roof. Its integrity is crucial. Any sections of the decking showing signs of rot, decay, or mold - like this piece - are removed and replaced.

Seams Taped & Underlayment Applied
Once the decking is inspected and the new pieces are securely nailed down, the crew reinforces it by taping the seams of each plywood sheet with all-weather Sealoron XT deck tape. Following that, a layer of underlayment - a thin, waterproof synthetic felt - is applied across the entire surface to protect the decking from rain, snow, and ice.

New Shingles Are Installed
Finally, the new shingles are installed! Brown Roofing proudly uses IKO Dynasty premium-laminated shingles on all roofs backed by our 50-year warranty. These high-quality shingles come in various shades, and Alisa has chosen the superiorly stunning Frostone Gray for her new roof.

Ridge Vent Installed
A ridge vent is installed at the peak of the roof to ensure proper air circulation. It allows hot, moist air rising from the house to escape, greatly reducing the risk of condensation buildup.

Chimney Is Flashed
New flashing is installed along the side of the chimney where it meets the roof. This thin, water-resistant material prevents water from seeping into joints and crevices.

New RainDrop Gutter System Installed
A RainDrop Gutter Guard System is installed on the gutters, ensuring they remain free of debris and never clog again.

The Finished Product
Shingles are installed over the ridge vent, and with that final touch, Alisa's new roof is complete!
