Before: Aerial View
Before beginning the roof removal process, our crew carefully lays down large, heavy-duty tarps to protect the home and landscape from any debris. On Rachael's old roof, noticeable discoloration in the shingles highlights signs of aging and wear.

Before: Triple Shingles With Moss
This close-up reveals that Rachael's roof has three layers of shingles. While layering is sometimes done to extend a roof's durability without a full replacement, it often causes more harm than good. The added weight strains the structure, and hidden issues can go unnoticed. To make matters worse, moss has begun growing between the layers, trapping moisture and accelerating shingle deterioration.

Triple Shingle Stripdown
The crew begins by stripping away all three layers of shingles, exposing the plywood beneath, known as the roof decking. As the structural foundation of the roof, the decking must be thoroughly inspected for any signs of decay or mold. Any compromised sections are promptly removed and replaced to ensure a strong and stable base for the new roof.

New Plywood Put In Place
Fresh plywood is carefully measured, cut to fit, and securely nailed to the rafters.

Taped Seams & Ice & Water Shield Dreams
With the decking securely in place, the crew reinforces the seams with heavyweight deck tape. Then, a premium Ice & Water Shield is applied along the roof's edges and valleys, ensuring optimal runoff during rain and snow.

Underlayment Is On
The rest of the roof is covered with a breathable underlayment designed to allow airflow while maintaining a watertight barrier for superior protection.

Next, New Shingles
With the underlayment securely in place, the crew begins installing IKO Dynasty premium laminated shingles in color Summit Gray, designed to endure all weather conditions. They are carefully arranged in a staircase pattern for a sleek and polished appearance.

Polyglass Under the Window
On this window ledge, our crew applied a specialized polyester membrane designed specifically for low-sloping roofs. This bottom layer is called the base.

Capped That
This top layer, known as the cap, provides a seamless finish, ensuring the window ledge looks nice and neat next to the rest of the roof.

Sleek New Skylight
In addition, our team installed a brand-new VELUX skylight, featuring sleek copper flashing for a modern and polished look.

New & Improved
After making sure everything is spotless, a ridge vent is installed to ensure proper ventilation, and flashing is added to critical areas like chimneys and pipe vents to prevent water from seeping through. With that, the roof is complete!
