Before: Broken Shingles & Stains
Peter's old roof showed clear signs of wear, with lifting and stained shingles, along with a few missing pieces.
The Old Shingles Are Removed
The crew lays down multiple large, heavy-duty tarps to protect the house from falling debris during the installation. Then, they begin removing all the old shingles.
Bad Plywood Is Removed
Once all the shingles are removed, the plywood underneath is carefully inspected for signs of decay, rot, or mold. Any affected sheets are removed and replaced with fresh, new plywood.
Taped Seams & Underlayment Placed
Once the new plywood is in place, the crew reinforces the seams with premium Sealoron XT deck tape. Next, they apply a layer of underlayment. This is a thin, waterproof material that protects the plywood from rain, snow, ice, and anything else that could cause water damage.
Time for the New Shingles
Once the underlayment is fully applied, the crew begins installing the new shingles. These are premium laminated IKO Dynasty shingles in the elegant color Summit Gray.
Ridge Vent Installed
A ridge vent is installed at the peak of the roof to ensure proper airflow, allowing hot, humid air to escape from the attic and preventing moisture buildup.
The Finished Product
Ridge shingles are placed over the ridge vent to create a smooth, seamless look for the roof. And with that, the roof is complete!
