Before: Broken Shingles & Moss
Bruce's previous roof was clearly aging, with broken shingles and widespread moss growth.

The Old Shingles Are Removed
The crew begins by stripping away the old shingles from the house. Beneath them is a layer of plywood sheets. This is called the decking, which serves as the roof's structural base. The crew inspects the decking for any signs of rot, decay, or mold.

The Decking Is Removed
The crew found that much of the decking was affected by rot. With Bruce's approval, they removed the damaged plywood sheets and prepared to replace them with new, healthy ones.

The Decking Is Replaced
The crew carefully fits and secures each plywood sheet to the rafters, creating a solid, durable foundation for the new shingles.

Ice & Water Shield Is Applied
Next, the crew applies Ice & Water Shield across the entire decking. This lightweight barrier provides essential protection against water damage.

New Metal Panels Are Installed
Next, the crew installs the metal panels. These sleek ProVia lifetime panels are crafted from slate and are in the color Ironstone, which Bruce selected.

Ridge Vent Is Installed
Once all the slate panels are securely installed, a ridge vent is added at the roof's peak. This ridge vent enables humid air to escape from the attic, helping to prevent damaging moisture buildup.

New Chimney Flashing
Elegant new flashing is fastened to the base of the chimney. This thin metal barrier helps prevent water from seeping into the roof through joints or crevices.

New Pipe Flashing
Flashing is also installed around the pipe vents using the Ultimate Pipe Flashing by Lifetime Tool.

The Completed Roof
The new roof is now complete! With the addition of beautiful metal roofing, Bruce's home has significantly enhanced its curb appeal and is now built to last with its premium materials that resist discoloration, breakage, and moss growth.
