The Decking Is Replaced

Underlayment Is Applied

Before the shingles are installed, a heavy-duty, water-resistant material called underlayment is spread across the entire decking. This protects the roof from potential water damage caused by weather and helps prevent conditions that could lead to algae growth in the future.
