Before: Stains & Lifting Shingles
The old roof displayed signs of deterioration, including lifting shingles and a large brown stain around the pipe vent, indicating a leak and excessive water damage.

Old Shingles Are Removed
After carefully removing the solar panels, the crew begins stripping away the old shingles to expose the plywood underneath. This plywood, known as the roof decking, serves as the structural foundation of the roof.

Bad Plywood Is Removed & Rafters Are Sprayed
Any plywood showing signs of rot, decay, or mold is removed and replaced by the team. Before securing the new plywood sheets to the rafters, the crew treats the rafters with a special spray to prevent mold growth.

Plywood Is Replaced
New sheets of plywood are installed after being carefully positioned and precisely fitted.

Seams Are Taped & Underlayment Is Applied
Next, the crew seals the seams of the plywood sheets with heavy-duty deck tape, reinforcing the structural integrity of the decking. Then, the underlayment is applied. This is a thin, waterproof barrier that protects the decking from potential water damage caused by rain, snow, and ice.

Underlayment On & Shingles Ready
Once the underlayment is fully installed, a metal trim is secured along the roof's edges. With this in place, the crew prepares to install the new shingles.

Shingles Are Installed
The crew begins installing the IKO Dynasty premium laminate shingles in Emerald Green, a lovely color personally chosen by Frida.

Ridge Vent Is Installed
At the ridge of the roof, a long vent is installed. This vent helps air circulation within the roof by allowing humid air to escape from the attic, which helps prevent moisture buildup.

The Completed Roof
The roof is now finished! With high-quality new shingles and state-of-the-art craftsmanship, this roof is sure to stay beautiful and keep Frida and her family safe and dry for a long time.
