Roof Before: Aerial View
From this bird's-eye view photo, you can see extensive staining across the shingles - caused by years of weather exposure, aging, and water damage.

Old Shingles Are Removed
The crew starts by stripping away the old shingles, exposing the plywood beneath. This layer, known as the sheathing, serves as the structural foundation of the roof.

Bad Plywood Is Removed
The crew carefully inspects each plywood sheet for signs of rot, decay, or mold, removing any damaged sections they find.

Plywood Is Replaced
Next, new plywood sheets are installed, carefully fitted and securely fastened. This ensures the roof's sheathing is strong and stable, providing a solid foundation for the new roof.

Underlayment Is Applied
To further reinforce the roof, the installers seal the seams of each plywood sheet with heavy-duty deck tape. Next, they apply the underlayment: a thin, water-resistant barrier that shields the sheathing from rain, snow, and ice.

New Shingles Are Installed
With the underlayment in place, the crew begins installing the new shingles. These durable, heavyweight IKO Dynasty shingles are featured in Dillon's chosen color: beautiful Frostone Gray.

Ridge Vent Is Installed
Next, the crew installs a ridge vent along the roof's highest point. This vent allows warm, humid air to escape from the house as it rises, helping to prevent moisture buildup.

The Final Product
Finally, Dillon's roof renovation is complete! For the finishing touches, the crew adds flashing around the chimney and vent pipes. This thin, protective material seals joints and crevices, preventing water from seeping in. Now, the roof is built to withstand the elements for years to come.
