Aerial View of Roof Before Replacement
This roof showed severe signs of deterioration and water damage. The "wavy" appearance of the roof is called buckling and is common in roofs with too much moisture buildup. Also visible in the lower left section is an abundant growth of moss.

Shingle Removal Underway
The crew starts the roof teardown by removing all of the shingles. The shingles are attached to plywood, also called sheathing, which is the structural base of a roof. After all of the shingles have been taken off, the crew examines the sheathing for evidence of rot, mold, or other damage.

Plywood Is Replaced & Underlayment Application Begins
The crew replaces any necessary parts of sheathing, precisely measuring, clipping, and nailing in each new piece of plywood. After that, the team starts installing the underlayment. This is a water-resistant material that protects the sheathing from rain, snow, and ice.

Section of Sheathing Completely Reinstalled
Our experts determined that this section of the roof needed to have its entire sheathing replaced. This section is also at a lower pitch, or slope, than the rest of the roof. Per current building codes, asphalt shingles cannot be installed on a roof with this low of a pitch, and a special polyester roof will be installed instead.

Polyglass Roof Base Is Applied
Polyglass Elastoflex is applied to the low-pitch roof section. This polyester membrane provides the same sheathing protection as the underlayment on the other sections of the roof.

Shingles Are Installed
Meanwhile, the crew installs shingles across the remaining sections of the roof, using high-quality IKO Dynasty shingles in the popular shade of Granite Black.

Polyester Cap Is Installed
The top layer of Polyglass Elastoflex, known as the "cap," is applied to the low-pitch roof with utmost precision, ensuring a durable and weather-resistant finish.

Completed Roof: Aerial View
Our roof is complete! With durable new shingles and a section reinforced with a water-resistant polyester layer, it is built to remain strong and sturdy for years to come.
