Before The Roof Replacement
Mismatched colors, broken shingles, and overall weather damage made this roof a prime candidate for an all-new replacement.
Removing The Old Shingles
The crew gets to work stripping the old shingles off and exposing the plywood underneath. This plywood is called sheathing, and it serves as the structural foundation of the roof. Each sheet of plywood is closely examined for rot or decay and replaced if necessary.
Seams Are Taped & Underlayment Is Applied
After examining the sheathing, our crew determined that all plywood was in good shape and did not need to be replaced. To provide extra structural integrity, the seams of each sheet of plywood are taped with heavy-duty SealoronXT Deck Tape. Next, the crew adheres Ice & Water Shield underlayment. This thin, waterproof material ensures that the sheathing is protected for years to come.
The Shingles Are Installed
After the underlayment is completely applied, the crew installs our IKO Dynasty shingles in the elegant Cornerstone Weatherwood color.
Ridge Vent Is Installed
The final step is installing the ridge vent to the peak of the roof. The ridge vent allows hot, damp air that rises from inside of the house to escape, preventing damaging moisture buildup.
New Skylights Are Installed
In addition to new shingles, the crew also had the pleasure of installing two brand-new, heavy-duty VELUX skylights.
