Missing Shingles
This old roof had missing shingles, and worn out remaining shingles, which left this roof susceptible to damage. The solution to this problem was to call in the Brown Roofing team for a roof replacement.
Shingle Removal
Shingle removal is the first step in any roof replacement. Scrapping off old and brittle shingles can often be a messy process. However, the Brown Roofing team uses long tarps attached to the edge of the roof to slide the shingles off of the roof, and remove them from the property without creating a mess.
Checking Out the Wood Decking
Once the shingles have been removed, the wood decking underneath needs to be inspected. Any damage that is found is removed. This includes leaks, holes, wood rot, and other damages to the wood decking. Our crew uses fresh plywood to replace the removed wood decking, ensuring a sturdy base for the rest of the new roof.
Installing Underlayment to Protect the Roof
In order to best protect this new roof, our crew uses decking tape to seal the edges of the plywood sheets. Next, Ice and Water Shield is applied on top of the wood decking, to prevent water damage and leaks.
The Finished Product
Lastly, our crew installs new IKO Dynasty shingles to the durable new roof. These shingles add extra protection, and look beautiful. This customer chose the shingle color Granite Black.
