Moss and Lichen Growth
Moss and lichen had covered this homeowner's roof, before the Brown Roofing team preformed a roof replacement. The shingles were worn and outdated.Because the shingles were not overlapped, water may have been able to seep in through the cracks in-between each shingle.
Mossy Shingles are Removed
In this photo we can see the Brown Roofing team scrapping off all of the old, moss covered shingles. After the shingles are removed, the wood decking underneath is revealed. The crew will replace any damaged wood.
Fresh Plywood
During this step of the roof replacement process, the crew finds any damage on the existing wood decking, and replaces it with fresh plywood. Any leaks, holes, or wood rot are removed during this step.
Decking Tape and Ice and Water Shield
The blue tape in the above photo is decking tape. This tape is applied along the edges of each sheet of plywood. This prevents water from seeping in through the cracks in-between the sheets of plywood. The white material being installed on this roof is our Ice and Water Shield. These protective measures will help to keep this home safe from the elements.
Installing IKO Dynasty Shingles
The shingles are being installed, and the job is almost complete. This customer chose the shingle color Biscayne. The crew works from bottom to top, overlapping the layers of shingles , in order to keep water out.
Stunning Result
Moss, lichen, and worn shingles are problems of the past for this homeowner. This new roof looks fantastic, and will continue to protect this home for many years to come!
