Dated and Worn Roof
This old roof was preventing this Stratford, Connecticut home from looking it's best. The existing shingles on this roof were worn, and did not provide high-quality protection.
Removing the Old Shingles
The Brown Roofing crew removed all of the old shingles, revealing the wood decking underneath. Any damaged wood decking is replaced with new plywood.
Installing the Underlayment
In this photo, the Brown Roofing Crew is installing underlayment on the new wood decking. This layer of underlayment will serve as extra protection. Underlayment can help prevent any water damage to the new roof.
Shingle Installation
In the above photo a Brown Roofing crew member can be seen installing new shingles on top of a layer of underlayment. IKO Dynasty shingles in the color of the customer's choice, Granite Black, are skillfully applied to this roof in order to produce a great looking result. The new shingles aren't just for show, they also protect the roof from weather damage.
Chimney Re-Flashing
When installing this new roof, the Brown Roofing team re-flashed this chimney in order to better protect this home. This new lead flashing will help prevent water from seeping in through this area, and slow down erosion.
