The flashing around this chimney was on its way out and desperately needed to be replaced.

One of our technicians took a moisture reading near the underside of the chimney. A 34.5% reading is completely unacceptable and if left alone this piece of decking will completely rot out.
Replacement time
Our team ripped up the old shingles and rotting wood and replaced the decking with CDX plywood. They also cleaned and prepared the chimney for new flashings.
All finished
We then laid down the proper underlayments, shingles, and flashings fixing the leak in the home. We recommended that the homeowner keep an eye on the chimney because we did notice signs of deterioration.
