The House Before
Here's what Ellen's house looked like before the renovation. Time to add a little curb appeal with some color! Click through to see the beautiful transformation!

The Teardown
The crew kicks things off by removing the old siding. This reveals the plywood layer underneath, which is called the sheathing.

Bad Plywood Removed
Any parts of the sheathing that show rot, mold, or any other sort of damage - like this piece shown here - are removed.

New Plywood Installed
Strong new CDX plywood is securely nailed into place, carefully measured and fitted to seamlessly replace the removed section.

Insulation Installed
A layer of insulation is installed over the entire surface. This polystyrene foam layer ensures thermal protection and also acts as a barrier from harsh elements.

New Siding Goes On
Now it's time to install the new siding! Ellen has selected CertainTeed's Monogram vinyl siding in the color Oxford Blue for her home.

The House After
After every last piece of siding has been carefully nailed into place, Ellen's home makeover is complete!
