The Roof Before
Here's what Jeffrey's roof looked like before the replacement. Even from a distance, the streaky roof algae and invasive lichen growth are very visible. Let's get started on a new roof!

The Property Is Protected
Before the teardown begins, the crew takes every precaution to protect the house and landscape. They carefully lay down tarps and plywood boards, ensuring the home and surrounding areas are shielded from falling debris.

Old Shingles Are Removed
With the tarps in place, the crew starts tearing off the old shingles. This reveals the plywood foundation underneath, which is called the roof decking.

Decking Is Examined
As the structural core of the roof, it is essential that the decking be in tip-top shape. After all of the shingles are removed, the crew closely inspects the entire surface for any evidence of damage, like rot or mold, and removes the affected areas.

Seams Are Taped & Underlayment Is Installed
With all parts of the decking either replaced or deemed to be in sufficient condition, the crew proceeds to tape up the seams of each sheet of plywood with all-weather deck tape to further reinforce the surface. Next, a layer of underlayment is installed. This is a thin, water-resistant barrier that protects the decking from harmful elements like rain, wind, snow, or ice.

New Shingles Are Installed
After the underlayment is fully in place, the crew starts installing the new IKO Dynasty shingles. Known for their superior quality and curb appeal, these shingles come in a variety of colors, and Jeffrey has selected the beautiful shade of Shadow Brown for his new roof.

Ridge Vent Is Installed
A shingle vent is installed along the ridges of the roof to ensure proper ventilation. This vent allows hot, moist air to escape from the attic, preventing harmful condensation buildup and promoting healthy airflow throughout the home.

Chimney Gets New Flashing
Durable new metal flashing is securely installed around the chimney and sealed with caulk, creating a watertight barrier to protect against leaks at vulnerable junctions.

The Roof After
After a few final touches and a thorough double-check over everything, the new roof is complete!

Bird's-Eye View of the Completed Project
Jeffrey's new roof is built to last and guaranteed to keep him and his family safe and dry for decades!
