Atiqur previously had a leak repaired around his chimney, resulting in some shingles that don't quite match the rest of the roof. Time for a full replacement!

The Old Shingles Come Off

The crew starts by removing all of the old shingles. This reveals the plywood layer underneath, which is called the roof decking. The roof decking is the structural framework of the roof.

Seams Are Taped & Underlayment Is Applied

For added reinforcement, the crew seals the seams between each plywood sheet with heavy-duty all-weather deck tape. Then, they install a layer of underlayment across the entire surface: a thin, water-resistant barrier that shields the decking from rain, snow, and ice.

New Shingles Go On

Now it's time to start installing the new shingles! Brown Roofing uses IKO Dynasty premium-laminated architectural shingles for all roof replacements backed by our 50-year warranty. These high-quality shingles come in a range of colors, and Atiqur has chosen the ever-popular Granite Black for a sleek, modern look.

New Flashing on the Chimney

The chimney flashing is upgraded with a new metal barrier. This thin but durable material prevents water from seeping into vulnerable joints, ensuring no future leaks around the chimney.

After a few final touches, including installing a ridge vent and securing flashing around all pipes, the roof is officially complete and ready to stand strong for years to come!
