Before: Front View
Have a gander at Peter and Gay's house before the renovation. From a distance, you can see some discoloration in the shingles and the white lichen growth on the south side (top left) of the roof. Click through to see the amazing transformation!

Before: Shed
In addition to replacing the roof on their house, we're also taking on Peter and Gay's sizable shed. As you can see, there's quite a bit of moss growing on it, likely due to the shade from the surrounding trees (in the warmer months) that causes moisture to fester. It's definitely time for a much-needed upgrade!

Old Shingles Are Removed
The crew gets to work by carefully stripping the old shingles off both the house and shed roofs, clearing the way for the new materials to be installed.

Decking Is Exposed
Heavy-duty tarps are laid out across the property to protect the house and landscaping, while also making the cleanup process smoother. Once the old shingles are removed, the roof decking, a layer of plywood beneath the shingles, is exposed and ready for inspection.

New Plywood Is Installed
Since the decking is the structural foundation of the roof, it's crucial that it's in excellent condition. Any sections showing signs of damage, such as rot or mold, are carefully removed and replaced with fresh, high-quality CDX plywood to ensure long-lasting durability.

New Plywood on the Shed
The same careful process is applied to the shed's decking. Each new sheet of plywood is numbered for easy tracking, ensuring we can provide Peter and Gay with a detailed account of how many new sheets were installed.

Underlayment Is Installed
Once the new decking is securely in place, a layer of underlayment is applied across the entire surface. This thin, water-resistant material acts as an extra layer of protection, keeping the decking safe from the elements like rain, snow, and ice.

New Shingles Are Installed
Now it's time for the exciting part - installing the brand-new shingles! Brown Roofing proudly uses top-of-the-line IKO Dynasty premium-laminated shingles. Peter and Gay have chosen the elegant Frostone Gray color for their new roof, adding a touch of sophistication and curb appeal to their home and shed.

Ridge Vent Is Installed
A ridge vent is then installed at the peak of the roof, ensuring optimal airflow. This vent allows warm, moist air to rise and escape from the house, preventing condensation buildup and helping maintain a healthy, long-lasting roof.

New Pipe Flashing Is Installed
Next, new pipe flashing is installed around the pipe vents. This durable material creates a watertight seal, ensuring that no moisture can seep into the vulnerable joints and cause any damage to the roof structure.

The Finished Product
After a few final touches, including installing flashing around the chimney and adding a matching cap to the ridge vent, Peter and Gay's new roof is complete!

The Finished Shed
And here is the finished matching shed! Now, both the house and shed are protected with durable, beautiful roofing that will stand the test of time.
