Before: Abominable Bowl
Nobody wants to resort to putting a bowl in the attic, but that's exactly what Richard had to do every time it rained. Let's put an end to that once and for all!

The Roof Before
Here's what Richard's roof looked like before the replacement. Click through to check out the stunning transformation!

Old Shingles Removed
The crew starts by stripping off the old shingles. This reveals the layer of plywood underneath, which is called the roof sheathing. As the structural foundation of the roof, the condition of the sheathing is critical and must be carefully inspected for any signs of damage, such as rot or mold.

Sheathing Is Replaced
The crew discovered that most of the sheathing was damaged and required replacement with new plywood, which was no issue. They carefully measure and precisely install each new sheet, nailing them securely in place.

Underlayment Is Installed
Once the new sheathing is in place, the crew installs a layer of underlayment over the entire surface. This thin, waterproof synthetic felt protects the sheathing from harsh elements like rain, snow, and ice.

New Shingles Installed
Next, it's time to install the new shingles! Brown Roofing proudly uses top-of-the-line IKO Dynasty shingles on all roofs backed by our 50-year warranty. These premium shingles come in a range of colors, and Richard has chosen the cool Graphite Black for his new roof.

New Ridge Vent Is Installed
Once the shingles are installed, our fantastic crew adds a ridge vent. This vent ensures proper air circulation by allowing hot, humid air from the attic to escape, helping to prevent condensation buildup and future issues.

New Flashing on Chimney
New lead flashing is installed along the sides of the chimney where it meets the roof. This thin barrier effectively prevents water from seeping in through any crevices.

The Final Look
After a few final touches and a thorough clean-up of the yard, Richard's new roof is complete!
