Bill's Roof Before
Here's a look at Bill's roof before the replacement. Click through to see the incredible transformation!

Before: Lifting & Loose
In this closer look at the back of the old roof, you can see the shingles are lifting and many are missing. Definitely time for a new roof!

Old Shingles Stripped
The first step in the roof removal process is stripping off all of the old shingles. This exposes the plywood foundation underneath, known as the roof decking. Our expert crew carefully examines the decking for signs of rot or decay, and any damaged sections are promptly removed.

Plywood Is Replaced
The removed sections are replaced with fresh CDX plywood. Each new sheet is carefully fitted and numbered for easy tracking throughout the process.

Seams Taped & Underlayment Installed
With the new plywood securely in place, the seams of each sheet are reinforced with heavy-duty deck tape. Next, a layer of underlayment is applied across the entire decking. This thin, waterproof layer of synthetic felt shields the decking from harsh elements like rain, snow, and ice.

Time For New Shingles
Next, it's time to start installing the new shingles! Brown Roofing's signature choice for roof renovations is IKO Dynasty premium-laminate. These shingles come in a range of colors, and Bill has selected the stunning Summit Gray for his new roof.

Ridge Vent Installed
A ridge vent is installed along the peak of the roof to ensure proper air circulation. This allows warm, moist air to escape, helping to prevent condensation buildup and maintain a healthy roof.

Chimney Gets New Flashing
New flashing is installed around the chimney where it meets the roof. This thin metal barrier helps prevent water from seeping into vulnerable joints, ensuring the roof remains watertight.

The Finished Product
With a few final touches, including installing shingles on the ridge vent and ensuring proper flashing around the other joints, Bill's new roof is complete!
