Before: A Closer Look
Some tell-tale signs of a roof that needs replacing include dark stains, which are caused by roof algae growth due to moisture buildup. This can be very damaging to the shingles. Time to get this new roof on!

Old Shingles Are Stripped
The first step is carefully stripping the old shingles off the roof, revealing the roof decking: a layer of plywood that serves as the structural foundation. The decking is then closely inspected for any signs of rot, damage, or decay. Any affected areas are promptly removed and replaced with fresh new plywood.

Decking Is Sprayed
To prevent future mold growth, Harriett chose to have our crew apply a specialized mold prevention spray to the vulnerable areas of her decking.

Seams Taped & Underlayment Applied
Once the decking is in proper condition and securely in place, the crew tapes up the seams of each plywood sheet for added durability. Next, a layer of underlayment is installed. This thin barrier provides extra protection against moisture intrusion from rain, snow, and wind.

New Shingles Are Installed
With the underlayment fully laid down, it's now time to install the new shingles! Our crew uses IKO Dynasty premium laminated shingles for extreme durability and top-of-the-line curb appeal. Harriett selected the incredibly popular and incredibly lovely Granite Black color for her new roof.

The Finished Look
The crew installs a ridge vent to ensure proper air circulation, and flashing is installed around joints to prevent water seepage into the roof. After those couple of final touches - Harriett's new roof is complete!
