Job review from Martin in Hamden, CT 06517 on 05/30/24

I just had to write in and give my second review of how great Brown Roofing is. Back in September of last year (2023), my wife and I chose Brown Roofing to put on a new roof on our home. Everything from start to finish was great, we were really very impressed and very happy that we chose them to do the work. Then in March of this year (2024) we found that after a terrible rain storm, our 10+ year old almost flat sunporch roof had a leak in it. Without hesitation we immediately contacted Brown Roofing. We knew from our past experience that we couldn’t go wrong in choosing them again – and we were so right! Once again, from the proposal to the final cleanup, everything was “right on target”. I have to also add that we were extremely fortunate in that we actually got the same crew and project manager. Connor, our project manager, once again oversaw the work and kept filling us in every step of the way. He explained exactly what step his crew was working on and kept us updated with their progress. He pointed out a lot of little details that we might not have noticed, like how they applied the special glue and adhesives and how the top layer of EPDM rubber was placed down with overlaps and extra sealants. I also have to give special mention to the “Marlon” – the crew’s foreman. Marlon really made all the difference on this job for us. We had a tricky issue where our bathroom window looks out onto the sunporch roof, and the bottom of the window was almost flush with it – making working in and around that whole area a real challenge. But Marlon is a real professional and takes great pride in his work. We could tell from the time and personal attention he gave to that whole area that, to him, he wasn’t working on “our roof”, but rather “his own roof” – that’s kind of person he is. Everything has to be 100% right with absolutely no chance of a leak – and above that, it has to also “look good” too. It doesn’t matter that few if any people will ever see the extra care and time he took with that window area, he saw it, and that’s what matters. When he was done, that whole area and window frame itself looked better than before the job started! The entire crew showed that same level of dedication. Every roof they work on “is their roof” – and it has to be done “just right” – even if that means taking extra time. In the end, you can see the difference. I personally feel that both Marlon and Connor went above and beyond on this one – and that’s why I wanted to post another review. If you’re in the market for a new roof, I can’t recommend Brown Roofing enough. They’re a family owned company, and that makes a big difference too. You’re treated like a valued customer and not just another “job number”. Thank you Brown Roofing for another job more than well done – and for a visually beautiful new roof!
