Here's what Jim's roof looked like before the renovation. Click through to see how we beautifully transformed it!

Before: Clogged Valleys
A closer look at Jim's old roof reveals that leaves had been piling up in the valleys. Over time, moisture buildup caused them to stick together, making it harder for them to clear out naturally. Let's get this new roof started!

Old Shingles Are Removed
The crew kicks off the project by tearing off all the old shingles. Before getting started, they lay down large tarps across the property and secure them along the edges of the house. This not only protects the property from falling debris but also makes the cleanup process more efficient.

Sheathing Is Examined & Replaced
Beneath the old shingles lies the roof sheathing: a layer of plywood that serves as the structural foundation of the roof. Since a strong foundation is key to a long-lasting roof, the crew carefully inspects the sheathing for any signs of damage like rot or mold. Any compromised areas are removed and replaced with brand-new, sturdy CDX plywood to keep the roof in top shape.

Seams Are Taped & Underlayment Is Installed
With the sheathing inspected and any damaged sections replaced, the crew reinforces the seams of each plywood sheet with all-weather deck tape for extra durability. Next, they install a layer of underlayment over the entire surface. This thin, waterproof barrier shields the sheathing from harsh elements like rain, wind, snow, and ice, helping to extend the life of the new roof.

New Copper Valleys
No more gathered, damp leaves - Jim has chosen to upgrade his roof with elegant copper flashing for the valleys. Copper is a fantastic choice, offering durability, corrosion resistance, and a timeless aesthetic. Not only does it stand up to harsh weather conditions, but it also develops a beautiful patina over time, adding character to the roof for years to come.

New Shingles Are Installed
Now it's time for the new shingles! Jim has chosen the sleek and stylish shade of Biscayne from the IKO Dynasty collection. These premium-laminated architectural shingles not only enhance the look of his home but are also built to last, backed by Brown Roofing's 50-year warranty.

New Copper Chimney Flashing
Along with his valleys, Jim is also upgrading his chimney with durable and stylish copper flashing, adding more elegance and long-lasting protection against water intrusion.
