The Roof Before
Here's a look at Jeff's roof before the transformation. Observe the noticeable color difference between the shingles around the skylight and the rest of the roof. Don't worry, we've got this covered! Let's get started!

Old Shingles & Sheathing Are Removed
Prior to the installation, Jeff made the decision to replace the entire sheathing - the roof's structural foundation on which the shingles are installed. So, the crew jumped right in, carefully stripping everything down to the rafters to start fresh!

New Sheathing Is Installed
The crew installs 1/2" CDX plywood sheets across the entire surface for the new sheathing. This high-quality wood is moisture-resistant and built to last, providing the perfect foundation for the new roof.

Seams Are Taped & Underlayment Is Applied
After all of the new sheathing is securely nailed into place, the crew reinforces it by taping up the seams of each plywood sheet with all-weather Sealoron XT deck tape. Next, underlayment is installed over the entire surface. This is a thin, waterproof layer of synthetic felt that protects the sheathing from harsh elements such as rain, snow, or ice.

New Shingles Are Installed
Now it's time for the exciting part: installing the new shingles! Brown Roofing proudly installs IKO Dynasty premium-laminated shingles, renowned for their durability and aesthetic appeal, all backed by our 50-year warranty. Jeff has chosen the sleek and timeless Granite Black shade for his new roof.

Ridge Vent Is Installed
The crew installs a ridge vent along the highest point of the roof. This vent allows proper air circulation by allowing hot, moist air rising from the house a way to escape, preventing moisture buildup.

Pipe Gets New Flashing
New flashing is installed around the roof's pipe vents using Lifetime Tool's Ultimate Pipe Flashing Boot. This high-quality flashing ensures a tight seal, preventing any water from seeping through and protecting the roof from potential leaks.

New Skylight Is Installed
A new custom skylight replaces the old one, featuring elegant copper flashing.

The Roof Is Complete
Hip and ridge shingles are installed over the ridge vent for a seamless look. With that, the new roof is complete!
