The Roof Before
Here's a look at John's roof before the renovation. The shingles show significant discoloration, a clear sign of wear and aging. Click through to see the incredible transformation!

Before: Three Tab Shingles
Here's a closer look at John's old shingles. These "three-tab" shingles are less durable than the architectural shingles Brown Roofing installs. Years of wear and tear have caused them to lift, making the roof vulnerable to damage. Time to get started on the upgrade!

The Old Shingles Come Off
The crew begins by carefully stripping off the old shingles, revealing the plywood roof decking beneath. Once the shingles are removed, they thoroughly inspect the decking for any signs of damage, such as rot or mold, to ensure a strong foundation for the new roof.

Seams Taped & Underlayment Goes On
Our crew confirmed that John's decking was in excellent condition. For added reinforcement, they sealed the seams of each plywood sheet with heavy-duty, all-weather deck tape. Next, they installed a layer of water-resistant underlayment across the entire surface, providing superior protection against rain, snow, and ice.

New Shingles Are Installed
Now for the exciting part: installing the new shingles! Brown Roofing uses IKO Dynasty architectural shingles on all roofs backed by our 50-year warranty. These high-performance shingles come in a range of lovely shades, and John has chosen the sleek and timeless Granite Black for his new roof.

Ridge Vent Is Installed
A ridge vent is installed along the peak of the roof, ensuring proper airflow. This allows hot, humid air from the house to escape, reducing the risk of condensation buildup and moisture-related issues.

The Roof After
With a few final touches, like installing shingles over the ridge vent for a seamless finish and adding flashing around the chimney for extra protection, John's new roof is complete!
