Before: Stain Pain
Kate's roof was definitely looking a little worse for wear. Click through to see the stunning transformation!

Old Shingles Come Off
The first step to any roof renovation is removing the old shingles. Heavy-duty tarps protect the house and landscape from debris.

Checking the Decking
Underneath the shingles is a layer of plywood known as the roof decking. This is the structural foundation of the roof and must be in tip-top shape. Our crew closely examines each part of the decking for any signs of rot, decay, or mold, and any affected pieces of plywood are promptly removed and replaced.

Taping the Seams
Kate's entire decking needed to be replaced. Each new plywood sheet is numbered for easy tracking. Next, the seams of each sheet are taped with heavy-duty Sealoron XT deck tape as an extra reinforcement.

Underlayment Is Applied
Next comes the underlayment - a thin, water-resistant layer that shields the decking. A specialized Ice & Water shield is applied along the roof edges for superior protection against harsh weather.

Shingle Time
With the underlayment down, it's time to start installing the new shingles! We trust IKO Dynasty premium-laminated asphalt for every roof, offering top-tier quality and style. The color Kate has selected for her new roof is the sleek and sophisticated Frostone Gray.

After: The Finished Product
The final touches bring it all together: A ridge vent ensures proper airflow, while water-resistant flashing protects joints around the chimney and roof pipes. And just like that - Kate's new roof is complete!
