Before Replacement: Old Shingles
Years of harsh weather, wind, and UV ray exposure had taken a toll on the home's old shingles, leaving them worn, patchy, and less durable.

Shingles Are Removed
The roof replacement process begins with removing the old shingles, revealing the plywood beneath. This is called the roof decking, and it is the structural foundation of the roof. Once the shingles are stripped away, our experts assess the decking for any signs of rot, damage, or decay to determine if replacement is necessary.

All of the Decking Is Removed
The crew determined that the roof's decking was in poor condition and required full replacement. With the homeowner's approval, they proceeded to remove all the existing plywood.

The Decking Is Replaced
The crew replaces and rebuilds the decking using all-new plywood sheets, carefully securing them to the rafters. Each board is precisely cut and fastened to ensure a perfect fit for the home.

Underlayment Is Laid Down
Once the decking is securely in place, the crew reinforces the seams with heavy-duty deck tape for added durability. They then apply a waterproof underlayment across the entire surface, providing serious protection against ice, water, and snow.

Shingle Installation Begins
With the underlayment in place, the crew begins installing IKO Dynasty shingles. These high-quality, durable shingles enhance the roof's appearance while providing long-lasting protection against the elements, preventing the patchiness seen in the old shingles.

Ridge Vent Is Installed
A ridge vent is installed at the peak of the roof to promote proper ventilation. By allowing warm, humid air to escape from the attic, it helps prevent moisture buildup, protecting the roof's structural integrity and preventing the need for future decking replacements.

Flashing Is Put on the Chimney
The crew installs metal counter-flashing on the chimney to seal intersections and prevent potential water seepage.

The Finished Product
The roof is now complete! With state-of-the-art, heavy-duty shingles and brand-new decking replacing the old, worn-out materials, this upgrade will keep the homeowner's house looking great and well-protected for years to come.
