Wear and Lichen Growth
This old roof was showing its age through worn down shingles, and lichen growth. These issues are visually unappealing, and can weaken the shingles. Because the shingles are the first defense against the elements, they must be in good condition. For these reasons, a new roof was the solution for this homeowner,
Getting Started
Our crew began this job by removing all of the old shingles from the roof. This left the roof bare, revealing the wood decking. This is when our crew looked for damages, including the reported leak. All damage was removed and replaced with brand new plywood.
Making Changes
This photo shows the brand new plywood that our crew installed on the roof, as well as the beginning of the underlayment installment. The white material being installed on the bottom of the roof is our Ice and Water Shield. This will keep water away from the wood, helping to prevent issues such as leak, holes, and wood rot.
The Underlayment is Complete
Now, all of the underlayment has been installed. Velora One underlayment has been installed on the roof, along with the Ice and Water Shield. Underneath, decking tape has been used to seal the edges of the sheets of plywood.
Shingles and Ridge Vents
This new roof is starting to come together! Our crew has installed new IKO Dynasty shingles in the color Summit Gray. This photo shows our crew members installing a new ridge vent onto the roof. This new vent will allow hot air to escape the attic, preventing condensation and mold.
A Great New Look
This home looks fantastic thanks to the experts at Brown Roofing, and new IKO Dynasty shingles. This new shingle color is so flattering on this house! However, the best benefit of this new roof may be the safety and peace of mind provided to the homeowner.
