Before
The existing flat roofing on this garage was about 10 years old. The customer reported that water had been building up in the corner of the roof. Our team got to work removing the old flat roofing materials.
More to Remove
After removing the first layer of flat roofing, our crew found the old flat roofing underlayment. This material needed to be removed, and will be replaced with newer underlayment.
Wood Decking
This is what a roof looks like underneath all of the layers of protection. This layer of plywood is called the wood decking, and without protection from underlayment and shingle/flat roofing, it is vulnerable to water damage. The section of this roof that is hanging over the garage door will be shingled, and the rest of the roof will have flat roofing installed.
Flat Roof Underlayment
Our crew installed flat roofing underlayment to protect the wood decking. This layer of protection can prevent water damages such as wood rot, holes, or leaks.
New Flat Roof
The final layer of flat roofing has been installed and it looks fantastic! These sheets of Polyglass Elastoflex will keep this garage safe and dry.
The Shingled Section
This section of the roof had shingles installed by our crew. They used IKO Dynasty shingles in the color Sentinel Slate.
