This Roof was Covered in Moss
This garage roof was completely covered in algae and moss, and the shingles were very worn and outdated. For these reasons, this homeowner decided it was time for a new roof.
Saying Goodbye to the Moss Covered Shingles
This photo shows the beginning of a shingle removal on this garage. In addition to the typical shingle scraping that is a step to each roof replacement, our team also removed a thick layer of moss, which was growing on top of these shingles.
Laying Protective Underlayment
After removing all of the old shingles from this customer's garage and home, our crew began to install underlayment over all of the wood decking. Ice and Water Shield is used to protect the new roof from weather damage.
New IKO Dynasty Shingles
Here we can see the Brown Roofing team hard at work installing the last layers of shingles on this new roof. The shingles are installed from bottom to top, layering the rows of shingles on top of each other. This allows water to glide off of the roof, rather than seeping in-between the shingles. The shingles used for this transformation are IKO Dynasty shingles, in the color Granite Black.
The Job is Complete
Look how great this home and garage look after a roof replacement! Moss and algae no longer take way from this home's unique design. The new roof will protect this home fore many years to come.
