Before the Replacement
Before our team replaced this customer's roof, outdated and worn shingles posed a threat to the safety of this home. As the outermost layer of roofing, the shingles are the roof's first defense against weather damage. Because this roof already has wind damage and leaks, these shingles are likely not preforming very well.
Shingle Removal
Our crew scrapped off all of the existing shingles. As shown in this photo, the team uses a tarp to collect the debris. This allows for easy clean up, and keeps the customer's yard mess free.
Getting Ready for the New Roof
This photo shows our customer's roof after the crew has removed all of the damaged wood decking. This step prepares the roof for all new plywood to be installed, and also shows just how much work goes into the roof replacement process.
New Wood Decking
Here we can see the brand new plywood underneath a layer of underlayment. The white underlayment is our Ice and Water Shield. This is applied to all of our new roof installations, to protect the new wood decking. Also seen in this photo is a side by side comparison of new and old wood decking. The new wood decking on the left is bright and uniform, while the old plywood on the right is dark and textured. This comparison highlights the high-quality of the new roof.
Time for the New Shingles
The Brown Roofing crew is hard at work installing new shingles onto this roof. The shingles used for this job are reliable IKO Dynasty shingles. The color chosen by this customer is Granite Black.
