Time for a New Roof
This roof is almost 30 years old, and has aged and worn shingles. Outdated shingles are more likely to experience rot and algae growth, decreasing the protective quality of a roof. For this reason, the homeowner needed a roof replacement, and chose Brown Roofing for the job.
The Crew Removes Old Shingles
Our crew began this project by removing all of the existing shingles. Long black tarps were fixed to the home, so that our crew members could simply slide the debris down the tarp, creating less of a mess.
New Plywood is Installed
After they removed all of the shingles, our team evaluates the existing wood decking, and checks for any damage. During this process the crew can identify a number of problems that may be preventing the roof from peak performance. Wood rot, leaks, and holes are a few reasons why our crew might replace the existing wood decking. In this photo two members of the crew can be seen installing new plywood onto the roof.
Sealing the Roof with Underlayment
At this stage in the installation the crew seals the roof with decking tape and underlayment. Decking tape is used to seal the boarders of each sheet of plywood. Ice and Water Shield and another layer of underlayment is installed over all of the plywood. These protective measure will help insure this roof's safety and prevent leaks and water damage.
New High-Quality Shingles
In this photo, our hard working crew members are seen beginning the shingle installment. The skillful shingle layering accomplished by our crew will help prevent water from seeping in between shingles. Also in this photo, is a chimney that our crew needs to re-flash, as the old flashing has deteriorated over time.
Fantastic New Flashing
The Brown Roofing team re-flashed this chimney, escalating its reliability and appearance. This copper step flashing was securely fixed to the chimney, to help prevent water damage and erosion. This new flashing looks better than ever, and increases the effect of this home's transformation.
Another Stunning Result
This photo shows the home after Brown Roofing completed the roof replacement. The crew replaced three roofing sections, and re-flashed two chimneys. These efforts resulted in a beautiful new roof, that will maintain its excellence for years to come!
